A REPUTABLE MARINE COMPANY IN THE CHAGUARAMAS AREA IS SEEKING
TO EMPLOY THE FOLLOWING PERSONNEL:
Plan and organize the fleet in accordance with statutory, regulatory and classification
society requirements, company policies and commercial commitments, and liaise
with other departments, regulatory bodies, classification societies and customers.
Monitor the execution of the planned maintenance program on board the vessels
though review of routine ship's reports.
In conjunction with the Health and Safety Department, review safety and other
routine reports submitted from the vessels.
In conjunction with the Management Systems Compliance department to
ensure that safety, environmental and security issues are dealt with effectively
and in a timely fashion.
Plan, arrange and monitor the progress of vessel dry dockings, refits and un-
scheduled repairs in accordance with the established company procedures and
ensure that relevant records are maintained.
Work closely with key customer contacts to coordinate and communicate
progress on key technical projects, issues and effectively utilize port time for the
execution of vessel maintenance.
Management of vessel operations budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
Act as company representative in relation to the execution of the Charter party
Qualifications must include:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar Operations Management position
or Senior Marine Professional position within the Marine sector.
A minimum of 5 years direct experience working with modern ASD tugs.
A minimum of 5 years direct experience working in an LNG terminal environment.
A minimum of 8 years work experience with Caterpillar 3516 series engines.
Completion of post secondary education is a requirement; specifically applicants
with an educational background in Marine Engineering or Navigation
A valid Master 500 T, NC certificate of Competency
Six Sigma experience considered an asset
Demonstrated experience working with an recognized quality system, experience
with the Irving management system considered an asset
Possess a high commitment to customer service and safe working practices
Strong financial acumen.
Demonstrated proficiency using Vessel/Maintenance management system. NS5
experience would be considered a definite asset.
Ability to travel internationally.

CLEVELAND---The Cleveland Cav-
aliers have apologised for showing
a video during Wednesday s NBA
playoff game that showed a man
violently throwing a woman across
a room for wearing a Chicago Bulls
During a timeout in Cleveland s
win, the team showed a one-minute
video on its large scoreboard spoofing
a popular TV commercial in which
a couple fall while attempting the
famous lift from the movie Dirty
In the Cavs in-arena promotion,
the male Cleveland fan lifts his part-
ner then tosses her over a sofa, saying:
"Bulls fan? I didn t know you were
a Bulls fan."
An announcer then says: "When
it s playoff basketball time, you have
to be all in. Don t make the same
mistake she made."
Later, the woman is shown
holding an ice pack on her head
and saying: "Well, I m all-in
now," a nod to Cleveland s playoff
The Cavaliers released a state-
ment yesterday in which they
said they regretted their actions.
"While the video was not
intended to be offensive, it was
a mistake to include content that
made light of domestic violence,"
the team said.
"Domestic violence is a very
serious matter and has no place
in a parody video that plays in
an entertainment venue.
"We sincerely apologise to
those who have been affected by
domestic violence for the obvious
negative feelings caused by being
exposed to this insensitive video."
The Cavaliers said they have
a long track record supporting
domestic violence-related causes
Before the apology, the team
was widely criticised on social
media for being insensitive
toward domestic violence.
"The Cleveland Cavaliers
should be ashamed of them-
selves," Nita Chaudhary, co-
founder of UltraViolet, an online
community that fights sexism,
said in a statement.
