MINISTRY OF FINANCE
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for employment, on contract, for a period of three
(3) years to fill the following positions in the Treasury Division, Ministry of Finance.

The incumbent is required to provide technical support in the operations and main-
tenance of the ICT infrastructure of the Ministry/Department under the guidance
and direction of supervisors. Duties include: installation and support of personal
computers and related software; monitoring of the operations of the
Ministry/Department's IT and networking infrastructure; assisting with the instal-
lation of computer room and networking infrastructure; and responding to and
addressing IT incident reports and requests for help.
o Recognises when an IT system/network/personal computer has undergone a
security attack and takes immediate action to limit damage and applies defined
o Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using defined installation
instructions and tools; tests and corrects malfunctions and documents results;
provides assistance to users and updates related maintenance and configuration records.
o Investigates minor security breaches with the IT infrastructure, takes defined
corrective actions and updates relevant security records and documentation.
o Carries out agreed operational procedures of a routine nature; contributes to
maintenance, installation and problem resolution.
o Assists with the performance of regular backups and restores, and tracks offsite storage.
o Receives and handles service desk and incident management requests for IT and
networking infrastructure support.
o Assists professional staff with the release and deployment of changes and updates
to live IT environment by administering the recording of activities and results.
o Performs other related duties as assigned.
o Knowledge of defined components of IT and networking infrastructure.
o Some knowledge of the tools and techniques required for the management and
control of ICT within a government based or business organization.
o Some knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
o Ability to recognize and correct IT security breaches.
o Ability to install/remove hardware and software.
o Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
o Ability to operate as part of a team and establish and maintain effective working
relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
o Minimum of three (3) years' relevant technical experience.
o Training as evidenced by the possession of a recognized Associated Degree or
Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information
Systems Management, Computer Engineering or a related area.
THIS POSITION IS BASED ON STANDARDIZED TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF
EMPLOYMENT AS DETERMINED BY CHIEF PERSONNEL OFFICER.
Responsible for maintaining Peoplesoft application HR Modules and providing
guidance and solutions to end-user enquires.
o Reviews, analyses and evaluates end-user needs and prepares detailed IhRIS and
o Provides support to end-users on a range of Public Service HR issues.
o Identify, research and resolve end-user challenges with the IhRIS System.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
o A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field. Or
o A Certificate in Public Administration and at least ten (10) years' experience in
a Public Service HR Management environment.
o Knowledge of Peoplesoft HR application software.
JLeads a team which develops effective end-user documentation and training mate-
rial used to prepare users to function in their respective Human Resource (HR) and
Payroll work environments.
o Evaluates trainers in their delivery of training and provides coaching and insights
o Develops mechanisms to evaluate trainee transfer of training knowledge and
skills in clients' Units.
o Administrates all arrangements for provision of training to client Ministries
o A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, or any of the Social
Sciences, with knowledge of the principles and practices of HR Development
and at least five (5) years' experience in a Public Service HR Management environment.
o Considerable experience (Minimum of five (5) years), directing and guiding a
team of trainers.
o Proven track record in the delivery of adult training
