Cee Jay ticks enough boxes in an aged
Maiden stakes over five furlongs of Chelms-
ford polytrack tonight and should make it
make it seventh time lucky, by default!
Eleven days ago we swerved Cee Jay for
a six furlongs maiden because Jeremy Nose-
da s charge was drawn twelve and widest;
in his infinite wisdom Jim Crowley jumped
this Kyllachy colt out of the stalls in an
attempt to make all and beat the draw; does
it ever work?
Two out it seemed likely to succeed but
Cee Jay folded rapidly in the closing stages
and was actually third to Rhyhthm And
Blues, Spirit Glance also passed him close
home; has Crowley advised Noseda to try
the minimum trip?
We re totally convinced this isn t the
answer but there again Cee Jay is sufficiently
superior and drawn one!
Both Dominance and long absentee Cor-
ridor Kid are sure to be well-backed and
one or two others can t be dismissed but
this is a race for Cee Jay to lose!
Don t oppose my nap!
Half an hour later Summer Isles attempts
to recoup last-time-out losses in an aged
handicap over five furlongs; thrown-in
and mount of Graham Lee.
No need to look the opposition, there
isn t any if Summer Isles hits anything like

Tangraam attempts a quick-fire hat-trick
under top-weight in the aged handicap
over ten furlongs; Dean Ivory s charge
stormed home seven days ago and carries
a 7lbs penalty. It s a bit too soon, he needs

Lee Rockefeller has been supplemented
for the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday at a
cost of £20000; this is no forlorn hope, by
Yanworth and the Willie Mullins batallions
dominate the remaining 17 possible starters for
the Neptune Novices Hurdle.
Mullins has continued his policy of leaving his
options open at the six-day declaration stage, by
leaving in the likes of Yorkhill, Petit Mouchoir
and Thomas Hobson despite having previously
stated preferred alternative options for the trio.
Among those to come out were Nicky Hen-
derson s Sky Bet Supreme candidate Buveir D Air
and the Warren Greatrex-trained Ma Do Fou, who
misses the meeting to wait for Aintree.
Interestingly, Demot Weld has left the light-
ly-raced Vigil in the contest, although he too is
also in the Supreme.
More Of That tops RSA field
More Of That, winner of both his starts over
fences, is among 22 horses left in the RSA Chase
at Cheltenham on Wednesday following the con-
His two victories this term came on this course
where he also landed the World Hurdle two years
ago.Jonjo O Neill s charge has been hogging
favouritism in the ante-post market along with
the Gordon Elliott-trained No More Heroes, who
has chalked up two Grade One wins in an unbeaten
record of three over the bigger obstacles.
No More Heroes is among a strong Irish con-
tingent that also includes eight possibles from
the Willie Mullins stable. His team consists of
Black Hercules, Measureofmydreams, Outlander,
Pleasant Company, Pont Alexandre, Roi Des Francs,
Sambremont and Shaneshill.
Heading the British contingent are the Nigel
Twiston-Davies-trained Blaklion, Nicky Hender-
son s Vyta Du Roc and Seeyouatmidnight from
Sandy Thomson s Berwickshire yard.
Shock defections from Coral Cup
Different Gravey, Kilcrea Vale and Great Field
are among the surprise absentees from next
Wednesday s Coral Cup field.
Even in Different Gravey s absence, Nicky Hen-
derson remains responsible for the top-weight in
the contest with Volnay De Thaix standing his
ground, but the trainer s withdrawal of the recent
Ascot winner could well open the path for him
to be supplemented into the Ryanair World Hurdle
line-up 24 hours later,.
Also taken out of the Coral Cup at the six-day
entry stage were Lil Rockerfeller, Our Kaempfer
and Desoto County, all of whom have obvious
alternative targets at the Festival.
The well-supported Great Field, who is engaged
in the County Hurdle later in the week, was taken
out by Willie Mullins, who still has a number of
possible representatives including Arbre De Vie,
Blazer and Clondaw Warrior.
Line up of 15 for Imperial Cup
The well-supported Affaire D honneur heads
the betting for the Close Brothers Imperial Cup
after a final field of 15 was declared on Thursday
Available at a double-figure price when the
market first opened, Harry Whittington s eye-
catching Betfair Hurdle fourth has been supported
steadily all week and now heads Sky Bet s updated
market at 7/2.
Although Sandown have been able to secure
the sponsorship of investment banking firm Close
Brothers, no financial bonus has been provided
this year for any horse who takes this contest and
goes on to win at the Cheltenham Festival.
That seems to have had an effect upon the final
declarations with horses who would have been
leading fancies, such as David Pipe s Starchitect
and the Willie Mullins-trained Clondaw Warrior,
pulled out at the final stage.

Cee Jay ticks all boxes

Un De Sceaux remains odds-on at 4/6
to give Willie Mullins his first victory in
the Betway Queen Mother Champion
Chase after 12 horses stood their ground
at the confirmation stage for the two-
mile showpiece at Cheltenham on
Last year s Arkle Trophy hero has won
all his five completed starts over fences
but has fallen in his other two outings when
looking certain to win.
Mullins could back up his bid by calling
on Felix Yonger, Twinlight and Vautour,
although the latter is widely expected to
line up in the Timico Cheltenham Gold
Cup two days later.
The last three winners of the Champion
Chase are in the field, with Nicky Hen-
derson s resurgent 2013 scorer Sprinter
Sacre widely considered the biggest threat
to the Irish-trained favourite.
Trainer Gary Moore has suggested he
could reach for the blinkers with 2014 win-
ner Sire De Grugy, while last year s hero
Dodging Bullets is back to defend his crown
for Paul Nicholls.
Colm Murphy won this race in 2010 with
Big Zeb and has an outsider this time in
the shape of Sizing Granite.
The eight-year-old, owned by Ann and
Alan Potts, won the Grade One Maghull
Novices Chase at Aintree last April when
trained by Henry de Bromhead.
Sizing Granite has yet to run for Murphy,
but the County Wexford handler reports
his new addition to be in good form ahead
of this massive test for which he is a 25-
"We re pleased with him. He had a race-
course gallop round Leopardstown.
Jonathan (Burke) rode him and he was
happy enough with him," said Murphy.
"He wouldn t be like Big Zeb. He s a
grand, big, straightforward fella.
"We ve been feeling our way and chip-
ping away with him and we re happy where
"He s got plenty of ability and seems to
be better on better ground.
"The lack of rain forecast before next
Wednesday would suit our horse for sure.
He won on good ground when he took the
Grade One at Aintree last season and similar
conditions again would be down his street."
Somersby, runner-up for the last two
years, will be making his eighth successive
appearance at the Festival.
The list is made up by Special Tiara,
third to Dodging Bullets last year, last year s
Arkle runner-up God s Own, and Just
Cameron, who took second spot behind
Un De Sceaux at Punchestown last April.
Ruby Walsh and Un De Sceaux clear the last to win the Clarence House Chase from fellow
Champion Chase runner Sire De Grugy.
