A former amateur boxer appeared in
court yesterday charged with the murder
of 22-year-old United Kingdom national
Adrian St John who was shot dead during
a robbery at Mt D Or on April 10.
Maldon Pascall, 24, of Hillsdale Crescent,
Mt Hope Road, Mt Hope, appeared before
Senior Magistrate Gillian David-Scotland

According to reports, around 8.30 pm on
the night of the incident, St John, who was
vacationing in T&T, was driving a Nissan
AD wagon along Upper Gordon Street, Mt
D Or Road, when he stopped to pick up

UK. He was reportedly already taking steps
to become a citizen of this country in pursuit

Pascall surrendered to police the day after
the shooting and was eventually charged
with the crime last Friday. Pascall repre-
sented this country as an under-20 boxer
at the Caribbean Boxing Championship in
2009 where he won a gold medal. He also
won a medal at the T&T Boxing Champi-
onship the following year.
Pascall was charged by Cpl Glen Payne
of the Region Two Homicide Bureau. He Central businessman Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis
and his 25-year-old son were yesterday released on
bail after appearing in court charged with partic-
ipating in a riot in Enterprise last week.
Alexis, his son Kerron and fellow Enterprise resident
Imam Moilan Lynch, 52, appeared before Senior
Magistrate Joanne Conner charged with participating
in the riot, which allegedly took place at Circular
Drive, Crown Trace, Enterprise, last Friday afternoon.

assaulting Mohammed Allan by beating and for

Alexis being granted $50,000 bail while his son and
Lynch were released on $40,000 bail.
The trio was among a group of a dozen men who
were arrested as police responded to a report of a
brawl in the community in which participants were

Coast Guard officer
on $90,000 bail
A 35-year-old Coast Guard officer was released
on $90,000 bail yesterday after appearing in court
charged with trafficking in cocaine.
Leading mechanic Kwesi Williams, of Lastique
Street, Laventille, was not called upon to plead to
the charge when he appeared before Senior Magistrate
Gillian David-Scotland in the Tunapuna Magistrates
Williams was charged with attempting to traffic
0.35 kilos of cocaine at the Piarco International
Airport. He was arrested last Wednesday by officers
of the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms
Bureau (OCNFB) after they allegedly found the drug
hidden in a package of car parts which Williams was
attempting to ship to the United States through an
international courier service at the airport.
The street value of the drugs was estimated to be
$176,320. Williams, who was represented by attorney
Sheriza Khan, will reappear in court on May 16. (DA)
