As we pass the halfway point in the May
Monthly King of the Tipsters Competition,
Woody147 has moved into pole position after
tipping up an impressive 33/1 shot at Lingfield,
edging narrowly ahead of Telmison74 & Two
T s, who are split by less than 5pts in 2nd & 3rd.
Chevy57 sits in 4th spot, while you can throw
a blanket over Gareth_N, Makeamint & Samedge,
who have all been consistently finding winners
this month. Redski (7 winners), Elharry (6 win-
ners), and Mannja99 (24 winners) have all been
in prolific form and will be looking to make a run
for the top prize of a £100 Sky Bet Free Bet.
If you would like to take part in the King of
the Tipsters Game, then be sure to get involved
now by clicking here.
We saw some superb tipping in the Daily Game
over the past week, with Malky12, Tw00ut, Kmr,
Gazpower, Chirgwin and Manoj Goorye all earning
themselves some great Sky Bet Free Bet prizes.
Our Top Tipster to follow this week is William
Mercer, who has had ten consecutive winning
naps over the last 10 days.
In search of a few winners? We have 10 year-
trends previews for all main events on both sides
of the Irish Sea this weekend in our Upcoming
Big Races Section. In England, the Group 2 Temple
Stakes takes centre stage at Haydock this Saturday,

for Sole Power
Sole Power will have a new jockey on board
in Saturday s Temple Stakes at Haydock with
top French pilot Gregory Benoist booked to take
Benoist will be the 11th different jockey to
partner the evergreen sprinter, who is now nine
years of age.
Trained by Eddie Lynam, Sole Power won the
Temple Stakes back in 2011 and has also finished
second in the Group Two and fourth twice.
He was last seen being beaten just over four
lengths by Profitable in the Palace House Stakes
Benoist, who rides the Al Shaqab Racing-
owned horses in France, will arrive on Merseyside
with plenty of confidence having won the Group
One Prix Saint-Alary earlier this week on Jemayel.
With big meetings at York, Goodwood and
the Curragh on Saturday, there is likely to be a
shortage of jockeys.
Jockeys agent Shippy Ellis said: "Edward asked
me who might be available and I suggested Gre-
"He s had 28 winners already this season and
had a great Bank Holiday winning the Hocquart
on Mekhtaal and the Saint-Alary on Jemayel.
"He s a highly capable jockey, has had winners
in the UK (Goodwood and Lingfield) and is firmly
among the top jockeys around in France."
Trainer Michael Bell has declared his
intention to support the new £625,000
EBF Breeders Fillies Series, starting when
he saddles Graceland in the fourth of the
20 Series races at Goodwood tomorrow.
Graceland is one of ten declared runners
for the £20,000 EBF Breeders Series Fillies
Handicap, run over a mile and a half at 4
pm---just half an hour after the Listed
£40,000 Cocked Hat Stakes which is also
sponsored by the British EBF.
A daughter of Mastercraftsman from the
family of the 2014 1,000 Guineas winner,
Miss France, Graceland made an excellent
seasonal debut when runner-up at Chelms-
ford last month before a slow start cost her
dear when she could finish only seventh
when favourite for a handicap at Chester s
Bell said: "I am enormously keen to sup-
port this new initiative---any incentive to
keep horses in training is very welcome and
trainers really must get behind it.
"Graceland s last run at Chester, went
pear-shaped at the start, as she lost 12 lengths
and then was beaten by little more than half
that. Her race was over after five seconds.
"I m not too worried about a re-occur-
rence as the start does not usually have too
much bearing in these staying races unless
they are at tight, turning courses like Chester.
"But I am worried about the weather---
there is plenty of rain forecast at Goodwood
and if the ground became testing she may
"The ultimate goal for Graceland is to gain
some black type and I m pretty sure that
she ll end the season rated higher than she
was when it started."
The aim of the EBF Breeders Fillies Series
is to give valuable opportunities to those
fillies that fall just below black type level,
encouraging their owners and owner-breed-
ers to keep them in training rather than sell
them for export or retire them.

Golden Reign is the likely favourite and
probable winner of a 3-y-o Maiden Fillies
Stakes over ten furlongs of good to firm
Goodwoood this afternoon, when the pic-
turesque Sussex venue kicks off 2016 with
a seven-race programme.
Running in tandem will be a similar turf
fixture at Lingfield and tonight Ripon and
Sandown offer a couple of serious betting
None is likely to be stronger than Golden
Reign, third on debut down the famous
Newmarket Rowley Mile last month to Swiss
Range, winner since!
Golden Reign missed the break but made
headway throughout the last three furlongs
to finish only six lengths off the winner;
that represented a tremendous effort by this
William Haggas-trained Champs Elysees
filly and though twice-raced High Hopes
is bound to be on the premises we don t
anticipate a setback.
Haggas is now an established grade one
trainer, throughout this season we will mon-
itor his runners closely, hopefully pinpointing
several good-priced winners; William and
wife Maureen, daughter of Lester Piggott,
represent a tremendous partnership, few
Good ground is forecast for the Esher
meeting; hopefully that will be the case
because rain is forecast coming from the
west and Ireland in particular might just
have its fill; this Saturday is all about the
Irish 2000 and 1000 Guineas which I m
looking forward to previewing.
In the meantime once-raced Regicide
looks gilt-edged for an aged Maiden Stakes
over ten furlongs and expected to go one
better under Tom Frankel Queally.
Only four days after romping home in a
six furlongs seller at the North Yorskshire
Garden track Zig Zag Girl returns for an
eight-runner Novice Auction Stakes over
six furlongs; is it too soon?
Given the colossal time-handicap mark
achieved, maybe, conversely Zig Zag Girl
should be the bet of the century!
