EYESORE AND STENCH AT MARACAS
Several weeks after high tides
caused flooding at Maracas
Bay, the popular tourist at-
traction remains in a deplorable
condition. Already an eyesore due to
incomplete upgrade works, visitors
to the beach, including tourists, have
been complaining about the stench
and the poor condition of the wash-
what you call spoil a beautiful
sandy beach. Tourists not coming
for buildings on a beach. These
businesses should be built off the
sandy area. The people in plan-
ning ministry, they have never
travelled. They should take a tour
of the Maldives. All huts should be
wooden and off the sand. What is
more natural than wooden hut?
Siddiq Mohammed---It was
like for the last three terms and
no ya'll blaming one Government.
First of all, Las Cuevas is the best
beach in Trinidad, with a Blue
Beach Award. I surf and visit the
North Coast regularly, since I was
around Trinidad for the last 20
years. I can tell you Maracas has
always been flooded by Natalie's
bake and shark and the toilet and
changing facilities have always
been deplorable. Maracas is a hor-
rible beach, especially the crowd,
noise and traffic. Las Cuevas has a
new facility always was upgrading
and always will be the best beach
on Trinidad's shores for the pub-
lic.Frankie Davies---Why they
didn't take some prisoners up
there (to serve their "hard la-
bour") to clean up the place?
Anderson Khan---Come to
Catylin Joseph---A water vac-
uum can deal with this quite easily
together with a Cepep crew. But
if you have the same old people
running the regional corporations
then no need ideas will come for-
Melody Brown---Loved Marac-
as Bay! Go there every time I visit.
Sad to hear about it's state now!
they want to encourage tourism?
Crime is already a hamper, Marac-
as is a tourist destination. With all
this now I hope they know what to
Ricky Tomm---Wasn't it Kam-
la who gave kallco a contract to
mess up Maracas? Get allyuh facts
Savitri Ragbir---Wasn't the
present Gov't suppose to have the
project completed? KPB not run-
ning the country anymore.
Aaron Gonsalves---Ppl who
blaming the PNM, just a little
info, this problem has been going
on for years. Both the UNC and
PNM are at fault.
Media track Isis
fighter from T&T
Reporters from the New York
Times and Al Jazeera are
speaking to members of T&T's
Muslim community following
last week's news that 130 na-
tionals are involved in terrorist
activities in countries abroad.
and Tobago might very well be
blacklisted due to the stupidity of
both the PNM and the UNC. They
both coddled these cancerous
elements and used it to get votes.
Forget FATCA, when T&T na-
tionals are banned from entering
the US, it will be worse. You have
allowed radical islam to flourish
for decades, now you will be held
Esslin Seenath---Trump will
put ban on Trinidad soon, keep
making these type of news.
Betty Felix---Donald Trump
watching and listening, Trinidad-
ians trying to put themselves on
the world map.
Donald Sukhnanan---All this
talk about how much terrorist
from Trinidad and the amount of
crap going on here, I suppose that
we wants to be a part of Trump
ban as well.
Pepper spray petition
As she nears her goal of 1,000
signatures in support of her on-
line petition to legalise pepper spray,
former Senator Nicole Dyer-Griffith
said she will be seeking a meeting
with Attorney General, Faris Al-Rawi
on the matter. She is calling for an
amendment Section 2 of the Fire-
arms Act of 1971 Chapter 16:01.
Frank White---Only 1000? Our
population is 1.4 million, the least
she should get is 100,000. This
has to be regulated.
Sam Ray---Can't wait to read
stories of children peeper spraying
each other in schools or parents
pepper spraying their children be-
cause they need discipline.
Arnold Narine---Don't forget
bandits can use that same pepper
spray against you. I say fix the
crime where you won't feel the
need to carry it.
Rey Alley---I experience that a
year ago...believe me they will use
Garcia Mary---Making it easier
for criminals to attack innocent
people and children.
Felix Dcat---Why everyone
keep saying the criminals going to
get access to it and use it. Hello,
wake up people, criminals have
been using pepper spray years
now. You think they waiting for it
to get legal, you think they care?
I've seen it in use many times by
chain snatchers in fetes and fast
food outlets bathrooms. These
people commit crimes with illegal
guns what you think they scared
to walk with a tin of illegal spray?
But I do agree that there will be
mass misuse of it if it becomes le-
gal to the public.
