Home' Trinidad and Tobago Guardian : February 17th 2017 Contents Mona Seebaran This is the reason why the
public don't co-operate with police in the solving of
crimes---you won't be alive to tell the story. This is
sad, killed in bed with his family. God, put a hand. RIP
Shinelle Abraham This is why in Trinidad nobody
ain't see nothing, ain't hear nothing. Because you
safer just taking rob, taking kidnap and playing like
you don't know who did it. The minute you decide to
report and pursue a case, you become a target. This
is sad, real sad.
Nesha Gayadeen I was privileged to have known
this man. He was truly a great soul. Always a phone
call away whenever you needed a last minute trans-
port and he was one you could have trusted indeed.
May your soul rest in peace, Sam!
Carolyn Lezama Rivera How many witnesses
have been gunned down days, hours before a court
case? How many? The Law couldn't care less be-
cause if they did this man and all the others who
were assassinated before him may still have been
Truck driver killed for
Dangling gold earrings cost truck driver Kern Jo-
seph his life yesterday, when a thief shot him dead in
front of several witnesses before stealing his jewelry
and running through a track.
Althea Findley Ail Even if he like bling it's his right.
He work hard to buy what he like. This is modern
times, the law needs to do a lot of changes on the
criminals in Trinidad. They just gun down people like
it's a lawless land. It's very scary in Trinidad, it seem
like the criminals have no fear of the police.
Sharmela Tickorie Omg...you working hard and
people want to kill you for your belongings.
Carolee Lewis My condolences to the family. But
I have to give my insight on this. With all the crime
going around in T&T why are people wearing gold
in the streets? Them Hollywood stars have body-
guards and the wearing costume jewelry. In fact ppl
in the States is not even wearing gold any more.
If they shoe red they wear a red necklace. If their
dress blue they wear a blue necklace and earrings
to match. And most men wearing beads chains. The
Hip Hop singers wear gold chains but they have
bodyguards with guns around them!
Trinidad and Tobago is very slow in maturing on
matters like mental illness. This was the view of
head of Department of Psychology at the St Ann's
Mental Hospital, Dr Krishna Maharaj, yesterday, fol-
lowing an incident in which a woman stripped naked
and walked along Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain,
after she was involved in an accident.
Fareena Ali Anxiety and depression is treatable,
however, let us as a people not use her as a guinea
pig to make people more aware of conditions like
these. Instead let those in authority highlight and re-
inforce the importance of being emotionally balanced
and, in so doing, identify at an early age the need for
treatment. Post trauma stress or depression with
anxiety over joblessness or grief, I have personally
experienced. And to the people out there I am stable
and strong enough in actions to combat all the symp-
toms. Just to make it clear, I am very alert and aware
learnt it from the best mum in the world.
Josanne Yorke There is too much discrimination
when it comes to mental health and so many people
are afraid to seek treatment. A simple thing as de-
pression that can affect anyone, comes as a big joke
to Trini people and is laughed at.
Ingrid Mike What a sad day when we get comic
relief from a situation that clearly needs empathy!
Craig George-Pierre I have always held the posi-
tion that there is a very thin line between our mental
state of mind; and it can occur at anytime. Rather
than making it a laughing matter, try educating our-
selves or at least show some empathy towards her.
There's so much our minds can take. It is her today,
tomorrow it can most likely be anyone of us.
Padarath wants Camille to
explain her source of $$
"Explain your wealth, Madame Minister."
That's the challenge to Planning Minister Camille
Robinson-Regis from Opposition MP Barry Padarath,
who has also slammed the Government for not
leading by example on its proposed "Explain Your
Wealth" legislation, which will be presented in Parlia-
Reginald Hercules Leave the woman with her
Thomazine Peters Why we should leave her
alone? What good for d poor goose, good for the rich
Denise Arnaud Come on now, is that really
wealth? That money is joke to what some people
spending everyday in this country. It's laughable.
Abu Mohammed Every single minister will be back
Theresa Conliffe Padarath, go ask your own party
first, you all got a lot more than her.
State witness slain hours before
State witness Samuel Rampersad was supposed
to attend court yesterday, but hours before this ap-
pearance three armed men stormed his home and
shot him dead in front of his family.
Richard Djerf And police say they need the public
help to fight crime. Who protecting the public?
Ahadd Ali That is why people doh see crimes. My
condolences to the family of Samuel Rampersad. He
did what he thought to be right and the State failed
to protect him.
Molly Joseph That's why I walking around with my
eyes closed so I won't see anything.
