With only three days of trading this week due
to the Carnival festivities, a mere 617,108 shares
changed hands on the First Tier Market. This
represented a decline of 77.59 per cent on the
prior week's volume of 2,753,435 shares traded.
The value of shares traded dropped 76.48 per
cent to $7,832,614.59 from last week's value of
Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) was the volume
leader this week with 36.41 per cent of all trades or
224,691 shares traded.
All three Indices posted gains this week.
The Composite Index rose 0.40 per cent or 4.96
points to end the week at 1,242.51, the All Trinidad and
Tobago Index advanced 0.41 per cent or 7.38 points to
close at 1,822.77 and the Cross Listed ended at 88.80,
up 0.38 per cent or 0.34 points. Advances were out-
numbered by declines by a ratio of five to eight.
Unilever Caribbean Limited (UCL) was the major
advance, up 12.00 per cent or $6.24 to close the week
at $58.24 and the major decline was SFC, down 4.36
per cent or $0.41 to $9.00.
There was no activity on the Second Tier Market
On the TTD Mutual Fund Market 729,521 Clico
Investment Fund (CIF) units traded with a value of
$16,414,138.01. CIF's price remained unchanged at
Additionally, 12,000 Praetorian Property Mutual
Fund (PPMF) units traded with a value of $36,120.00.
PPMF's price rose 0.33 per cent or $0.01 to $3.01.
Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) -- 03.03.17
The Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited (TTSE) received
notice from TCL that its board of directors passed a resolution on
February 23, authorising the company to make an application to the
Jamaica Stock Exchange ("JSE" or "the Exchange") pursuant to Rule
411B to delist the Ordinary of TCL form the Exchange.
The application was duly made on March 2. The delisting will be ef-
fective on a date to be determined by the JSE.
First Citizens Bank Limited (FIRST) -- 03.03.17
The TTSE received notice from FIRST advising that the following per-
sons were appointed directors following the bank's special meeting on
February 16 effective same date: Mr David Inglefield, Ms Ingrid Melville
Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL) -- 03.03.17
The TTSE received notice from SIJL advising that effective March 1,
2017, Mr Vijay Bowla was appointed to the position of assistant vice
president, Treasury & Trading.
National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) -- 02.03.17
The TTSE received notice from NCBJ advising that the proposed
Scheme of Arrangement among NCBJ, NCB Financial Group Limited
and their respective shareholders ("the Scheme") was sanctioned by
Order of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Jamaica on February 28,
2017. However, the Scheme will only become effective on the filing
of the Court Order with the Registrar of Companies.
Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited (SIJL) -- 02.03.17
The TTSE received notice from SIJL advising that effective February
27, 2017, Ms Camelay Roberts was appointed to the position of
assistant vice president, Finance and chief financial officer.
First Citizens Bank Limited (FIRST) -- 01.03.17
The TTSE received notification from FIRST advising that in the
budget statement of September 30, 2016, the Hon Minister of Finance,
Mr Colm Imbert, indicated that the Government intended to make an
offer for an additional sale of its shareholding in First Citizens Bank
Limited (the "Bank") via First Citizens Holdings Limited (the "Offeror").
The proceeds from this sale are intended to fund the Government's

the directors approved the additional sale of 48,495,665 shares in the
bank owned by the Government through its nominee, the Offeror.
