FERRY FURY---ANGRY PASSENGERS IN STAND-OFF
A stand-off between passengers
and officials of the Port Author-
ity of T&T (PATT) yesterday led
to hundreds of people refusing to
disembark from the T&T Express,
after it returned to the Port of Port-
of-Spain after mechanical problems
were detected half hour into an al-
ready delayed trip.
Amar Rambhajan: That is frus-
Leston R: All kinda problems in
the country but they taxing away
while citizens can't even get home
or work on time. No focus on the real
Mohammed Imran: Build a
bridge from Toco to Tobago. All this
money we spending on boat, US
Ramcharan Nigel: They ain't
blaming Kamla for that too?
Steve Mohammed So sad.
Shoma Bachoo That is why Trin-
idadian rather go to a beach resort in
Trinidad than go Tobago now.
Susan Mc Lean: When will they
ever get it right?!
Sweetman Saga: The biggest
thing keeping us back in Trinidad
and Tobago from first world status
is a lack of social services, transport,
health and basic utilities. People
don't have water in certain areas,
Former assistant commissioner of
police Cecil Santana had to detain a
businessman yesterday, after anoth-
er man bleeding from several bullet
wounds pulled up in front his home
begging for help.
Ricky Mix Masters Paponette:
You see how nice they made the
"bandit" look, he went for help, but
didn't say if he came to rob the man.
Momie Bennie: Them ent say
why d man pull n block d business-
man van for.
Gemini Harris: Did anywhere in
this article say the man was armed?
Did they search the injured man
and his vehicle? Did it say the man
approached threateningly? Could
it have more in the mortar than the
Devi Maharaj-Ragoo: So they
made the businessman, who was
probably just trying to protect him-
self and his wife, look like criminals.
No one can get a licensed firearm
these days. With what is happening
today, you can't trust no one. If the
victim wasn't going to rob anyone,
why did he pull and block the busi-
nessman like he did? Will you wait
till he pull out a gun and shoot you
before you react? Steupz.
Keston Greig: This story have a
lot of loose ends but at no time did
this article say that the person who
had approached the businessman
was armed. Could it be they had a
confrontation before and this led the
man to block the businessman? At
the end of the day the businessman
have to answer for his actions, es-
pecially when the firearm used was
Shanta Sankar: That is the way
citizens feel. We have to defend our-
selves. I was robbed twice and on
both occasion the TTPS said they
can't do a thing...
Adil Ali: The only wrong here
is the fact he (businessman) was in
possession of an unlawful firearm.
Police arrest three

Three men have been arrested in
connection with the chopping death
of a pregnant woman in Tyrico last
night. Police said the men, two from
Maraval and one from the Tyrico
area, were held in a road block as
they attempted to flee the area.
Limma McLeod: Wilkinson Sav-
Annie Rere Ottley: These people
Kathy Saladeen: These demons!
I rebuke u in the name of Jesus.
Richy Mohammed: The country
is not wicked...just humans.
Kavita Tracey Kalicharran: The
killer always have a reason why they
kill people. It's sad but if someone
cuss you out here it's best to walk
away. People believe in revenge and
out here we need to be careful be-
cause people are killing for stupid
Anne Jones: Arrested whilst at-
tempting to flee?! Well done TTPS!
That's what we wanna hear. Now
get the evidence and lock things up
tightly, and let us hope our ever in-
competent prosecutors don't drop
the ball yet again by losing evidence
and taking years to bring justice.
T&T 88th on list of
Health Minister Terrence Dey-
alsingh says T&T is an unhealthy
society ranked 88th among the
healthiest countries in the world by
George McPherson: 88th out of
how many? 100?
Charlene Morris Like this is
surprising. Too much fast food and
no exercise. Too many of us are over-
weight. Women are quick to say they
are thick when clearly they are obese.
Yes, the health system is not at its
best but the government alone must
not be blamed. We are simply eating
ourselves to death.
Schennel Romero: They will
stop free health care just now, just
wait and see.
Theresa Lia: There is a continual
smell of food in Trinidad. With so
many outlets to purchase food, and
such a vast array of choice, it is no
wonder obesity and accompanying
health symptoms have now affected
the population. Who can resist a full
