Home' Trinidad and Tobago Guardian : May 26th 2017 Contents Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, has
a requested a full report from Minister
of Sport and Youth Affairs Darryl Smith,
on the recently concluded trip to Toba-
go by the minister and officials from his
Dominic Hosein Another waste of time
and resources.... sigh!
Jumille Moore-Yarde Well I hope they
"look into" Magdalena rates.
Don Cooper Who did you fire for $34
million life sport Kamla? Remind us
Danny Jones He did not thief anything,
so go easy.
Harry Ramharack The nation needs
more accounting from every minister on
a regular basis...no exception.
Raj Sum What Rowley going to in-
vestigate PNM MP's again for? He will
find no wrong doing just like he did for
Camille and Marlene. This is PNM country,
they can do what they want. Where the
unions? Where the protesters in town?
Where Father Harris? They all happy now.
Anthony McKenzie Yes, Rowley send
him to kneel down in the naughty corner.
Dexter Gamel Abdul Yuh safe, just
a paper exercise, PNM doh fire nobody.
Fazir Mohammed He is good and ef-
fective, scold him, doh fire him.
Jake Simms Public political gimmick,
nothing's going to come out of all this
Visitor dies after turned
away from Mt Hope
A 19-year-old Venezuelan national died
hours after he was denied medical care
at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences
Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope earlier
Kimberly Rampersad They not sup-
pose to deny him treatment. Our health
care system is the worse!
Avinash Garib I don't know of this pol-
icy. Can someone reference it or link it to
me? Is this a documented policy line item
or a emotional add-in.
Jean-Pierre Mouttet I am not sure how
many of you read the full article. In short,
he was admitted tested and diagnosed.
Released when he was well enough to
leave. It don't matter where you are if you
have cancer and can't afford treatment.
The best you can hope for is a bed and
pain meds while you die. He was waiting
to board a plane passed out was admitted
again and then died the next day. Any
country he was in the same would have
happened. And I'm sure he knew he was
sick and even if he was treated he would
have died anyway.
Carol Neemai How can human beings
can be so heartless to another human, we
should love our neighbours.
Vindra Seetahal Rajmoolie Shame on
the health service in Trinidad; if a Trini-
dadian went to Venezuela and got sick
do you think they would be glad to get
Jan Webster-Barrow And what does
PNM have to do with this? Stop blaming
the govt for all our self destructive ways,
we are supposed to be our brothers' keep-
Lystra Laurent If we are in a foreign
country and God forbid we fall sick, we
would want help. May his soul RIP.
Jamie Bir This young man died from
"acute intraparenchymal, acute myeloid,
leukaemia and haemorrhage." Chances are
that he knew that he was sick. 'Cause
you can't have this disease and not know.
There is barely any space in our hospitals
for our own, you want to give care to for-
eigners. Are you aware that there are little
to no cancer meds for our own. Sad to say
he "try a thing" and didn't get through.
Kari-Ann Dookie This is ridiculous...
when we as Trinis fall ill anywhere else
we have to pay for any and every treat-
ment we get on the outside from pocket
unless we are lucky enough to have in-
ternational medical insurance coverage.
Why should any visitors have the privilege
of our free medical care when many of
our citizens don't even get the benefits?
There are many private establishments
he could have gone to and paid for imme-
diate medical attention. They playing the
"poor" card but yet it says he was here
HDC to focus
more on rentals
The Housing Development Corporation
(HDC) will now be putting its focus on
making rental units available to applicants,
which is part and parcel of an uwpcoming
policy change at the Ministry of Housing.
Ryan Steinberg Jr I really don't under-
stand why the government just doesn't
give the people the land and a low interest
loan to build thier own homes. HDC homes
are about $450,000 based on location
and size. Then you have to qualify for a
mortgage based on your age. The home
are poorly built and requires a lot of up-
grades based on your lifestyle. So this is
a useless process.
Melissa Cudjoe Then hopefully the
HDC will begin to take their responsibility
as a landlord seriously!

MEN, PLEASE REMOVE
YOUR HATS IN CHURCH
I have been noticing for many years now the un-
savoury practice of some men not removing their hats
while attending funerals in the nation's churches.
Some of these are grown men who are from the
era when, as soon as a man entered someone's house,
he would remove his hat, since to do otherwise was
During the funeral for Lord Brigo at the Cathedral of
the Immaculate Conception, some of the leading calyp-
sonians, and others, continued to show disrespect for
the church by not removing their hats.
So far, I have not heard the church authorities con-
demn his practice.
I feel the priests should make public announcements
asking the offenders to remove their headwear, and
comply with the dress code.
One cannot go into someone else's place of worship
and be disrespectful in their sacred space.
Do we wonder still why our young people are growing
up to be the way they are?
