know our brides-
maids and grooms-
men so well, yet we
are stumped when
it comes to getting
them a ‘thank you
In the lead-up to
the wedding, these
folks would have run
our errands, heard
our troubles, shared
our laughter, given of
their time and advice,
purchased their attire
and bought gifts for
you, so it’s fitting to
say “thank you” for
all the effort.
Here are some gift-giving ideas:
Accessorize–A practical gift that
most bridal party members would ap-
preciate would be some sort of accesso-
ry that they could wear to the wedding.
Think about matching lockets, broaches
or bracelets for the bridesmaids or even
a chic clutch.
Bridesmaids also always appreciate
anything monogrammed with their in-
itials, so how about a journal, make-up
case, stylish parasol, flip flops, beach
tote or pashmina? Groomsmen’s gifts
can be ties they will use to the wed-
ding, handkerchiefs, pocket squares,
cuff links or for a surprise pop of col-

clothing would not only be thoughtful

The gift of food–
No one would refuse
a fresh fruit basket,
a crate of imported
lates, wine or sweets.
Attach a meaningful
note and you’re all set!
Give the gift of an
experience–This is a
great option for brid-
al party members
who seem to have
everything. You can
get them tickets to a
concert, a play, mov-
ie or gift certificates to a photo shoot,
short course, spa or restaurant.
Handmade–Sometimes the most
cherished gifts are the ones that are
handmade. If you’re crafty you can make
a gift yourself or compile a photo book
or photo album.
Before you go shopping, here are
Consider the individual’s per-
sonality–If they’re a member of your
bridal party, chances are you’re already
familiar with some of their likes, dis-
likes, personal tastes, style and favourite
colours and brands. It might be a good
idea to jot down some ideas beforehand
and a price range to go with it.
Examine the person’s hobbies—
Buying an accessory that will comple-
ment a person’s hobby is a sure-fire way
to get gift-giving right. An example
would be to get gadget cases, hobby
books, games, playing cards, team
memorabilia, a basket of craft items
or even tickets to a match or game.
