to the instructions
coming from Den-

the first few days
of the residential
training camp, it
was becoming evi-
dent that Lawrence
had his ideas about
where Lewis would
fit into the plans for
the team heading
into the World Cup
qualifier against United States. And

"I knew that the coach had his plans
and he knew exactly how he wanted to
plan. He explained my role and with
each day that went by, I was prepar-
ing myself to give him what he wanted
and giving the team what I had in me,"
Lewis had a first half strike ruled off-
side against the US, which many argued
would have hardly been debated had the
assistant kept his flag down.
"We were unlucky. A goal at that
stage would have been a big boost for
us," he said.
"I thought we gave a good showing
in the two games and me personally,
I am growing still. I am gaining con-
fidence and understanding my roles
and responsibility with each session
and each game that we play. Hopeful-
ly with more games under our belt, we
will just keep getting better and better,
" he explained.
Scott Sealy's son in
US Under 14 team
Dante Sealy, son of former national
team forward Scott Sealy is currently
part of the United States National Under
14 set up.
Sealy, who is part of the FC Dallas
Academy was called in by US head
coach Clint Peay, along with 34 oth-
er players, for the team's first training
camp of the year in February at US
Soccer's National Training Center in
Carson, California, USA.
Of the 36 players on the roster, Sealy
and Dallas teammate Brad Fragile were
among 18 others returning from the
most recent Under-14 BNT camp last
November. In addition, 33 currently
play for US Soccer Development Acad-
emy clubs. All 36 players were born in
After impressing in-
itially, Sealy then made
the US Under-14 team
for a training camp in
Croatia this month.
The US played Croatian
club Dinamo Zagreb,
Bosnia as well as had
two matches against the

FC Dallas academy is
rated among the best in
the US at this time. This
year alone, the club's
Under-18 and Under-16
teams brought home national titles and
while there was no championship avail-
able for the Under-14s, they finished
with an undefeated 25-match record.
17s and 15s
With the Concacaf Under-15 cham-
pionship vastly approaching in a cou-
ple months in August, Russell Latapy
is trying to get the national Under-15
boys team up to scratch for their first
major overseas competition. Latapy
currently prepares the team at train-
ing sessions during the week at the Ato
Boldon Stadium, also overseeing the
Under-17 team which has been kept
together since their Caribbean qual-
ifying campaign last year.
"It's a situation where we have both
teams two to three days per week. So
we have the 13s coming in the early part
of the evening and then the 17s come
in after and in that way we are able to
have hold of both sets of players on a
pretty regular basis, instilling the right
habits in them and teaching them the
way we want the game to be played by
our youngsters coming up," Latapy said.
"We have the Under-15 champion-
ship in August which is the next major
assignment for either of the teams and
we will try to prepare them as best as
possible to go there and give a good
account. And the 17s of course will
continue to train to be part of the next
under 20 campaign with hopefully some
matches or tournaments in between,"
The TTFA Elite Development Under
13 team also commenced training earlier
this month at the Ato Boldon Stadium
and will be assessed with an inter-zonal
tournament also scheduled to begin in
September from which a pool of nation-
al u-13 players will be selected.
