A 56-year-old man, who admitted
to attempting to murder his ex-girl-
friend after she left him in 2010, has
been sentenced to life in prison.
Carol Khan: This sends a power-
ful message to other men who may
have thoughts of committing crimes
of this nature. This is a fixation, he
will never rest until he accomplish-
es his mission. In the meantime,
it spares the woman the agony of
having to fearfully look over her
David Leeds: What wrong with
him? He can't get a next 'oman? He
acting like he desperate.
Jake C Gosine: The only time I
beat my wife was in a game of scrab-
ble. The ruling may end up in an
appeal situation as being too harsh
Melina Hutchinson: That is how
to deal with them, lock them away
for life so they can't ever do harm to
the woman again!
Trini Home: I don't know why
some men believe women are prop-
Harry Ramharack: This is great
news ...life imprisonment for a po-
tential murderer. The depressing
news is that there are more than 200
murderers walking freely amongst
us. The police and justice depart-
ments can do better.
Niecy Rob: Very good, these men
are sick better safe than sorry.
Husband to hang for
killing ex-wife, lover
A jilted husband and his friend
were sentenced to death by hang-
ing yesterday, for soliciting and
contracting a hitman to murder
the man's ex-wife and her lover for
$30,000 some 11 years ago.
Neal Gokool: Sentence to hang!
Nobody don't hang anymore; wast-
ing taxpayers money again.
Marilyn Sutherland: When is
the hanging starting?
Sita Maharaj: I wish that they
could hang people asap!
John Robert Bradford: "Yuh
tink is joke I does be making?"
Roma Baran: Yeah right, they will
rot before they hang them.
Adrian Hobbs: We want some of
that hanging in Barbados; you kill
someone you go to prison get some
good rest, food and exercise.
Navin Persad: No one gets
hanged in this country anymore. You
meant to say "life in prison"
Nerissa Dqueen: I wonder how
many people those 'hit men' has
killed since then or if they too, have
Fear mounts for
missing bank worker
Family members of bank employee
Nikisha Winter-Roach are becoming
increasingly worried as there has
been no word on her whereabouts
five days after she went missing.
Sharon Jorcil James: Lord, have
mercy on this situation!
Markus Rodgers: Well we all
know what possibly happened.
Lisa Lambert: Praying for her
Yaseen Abdul Raheem: Anoth-
er news feed just reported she was
found alive with her hands bound
behind her back.
Jaden Scott: Some positive news
on this Emancipation Day.
Giselle Singh: Praise God.
Nicole Horsford: Like they find
her alive this morning...praise God.
Lans Darky: They found her
wondering near her home disorient-
ed and her hands bound.
PM: Scars of
slavery still evident
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley
is urging citizens they should never
underestimate or forget the sacri-
fices and hard-won freedom of the
enslaved African ancestors.
Shyankaran Lalla: Although
slavery is done many are enslaved
by those whom they consider their
leaders who only know of their needs
at election time.
Robert Singh: I do not like how
this world spends all this money and
time on preparing for these holidays,
preach about peace, togetherness,
reflection of the past, have a great
time, and the day after, continue
fighting against each other. Business
as usual. It never makes sense to me.
Jake C Gosine: Should scars be
equated to the wound, or be a symbol
Raj Maharaj: The slaves have
been freed many years ago, however,
they have mentally enslaved them-
Trini Home: Mental slavery is
still eating away at our youths. Like
when you tell yourself that you will
amount to nothing just because of
how you look, or have to dress a cer-
tain way, or have your hair done a
certain way in order to be accepted
Cops raid two
Officers from several special units
of the T&T Police Service (TTPS)
raided two Central-based car dealer-
ships yesterday, where $100,000 in
cash, one vehicle and forged docu-
ments were seized.
Usha Basso Kissoon: Great job.
Get the gangs now. Clean up Trini-
Jake C Gosine: What? No drugs,
drugs money, or even traces of laun-
dering? Sometimes the car racket is
just the basic front.
Qi Zareen: Always remember
this. No matter who you make
friends with, nothing can help you
when they decide to take you down.
Terrance Persad: Long overdue.
Kenton Christopher Gonzales:
Ah hope some people from Licensing
Office get lock up too. He can't be in
