TRAFFIC RELIEF AHEAD---NIDCO
China Railway Construction Corporation
(CRCC) has been awarded a $221.7 million
contract by the National infrastructure De-
velopment Company (Nidco) to build the
controversial Curepe Interchange, the state
company's chairman Herbert George has
Bernard Loobie: This project is long overdue
we desperately need that overpass to help ease
some traffic it will have a lot of inconveniences
but in the end it's all worth it for a better T&T.
Steven Greenleaf: An interchange in Califor-
nia, with strict building standards, would cost less
than US$10 million.
Vernil Dalrymple: Hope locals get hired and
help to create employment and ease crime up a bit.
Dominic Hosein: Did we finish highway to
Rajesh Gosine: Nice.
Rishi Ramkissoon: Until the final figures
come in, Mr George can spare me the mamaguy
about how much money he's supposedly saving
us. Especially when there were massive cost-over-
runs and delays on the Scarborough General
Hospital, and Mr George has kindly informed us
that this was the very contractor that oversaw that
project. So I am already expecting overruns.
Lisa La Croix: I have some problems/questions
1. What happened to local contractors or devel-
opers? Don't we have any?
2. Will they use their own to get the works com-
pleted or will the labour be sourced in Trinidad?
3. Do we really need a Curepe interchange right
now seeing that there are other sectors that crying
out for money?

Jennifer A Mitchell: This is too, too sad. Can't
believe with all the $$ and well-abled people/
businesses in Trinidad who have money... Come
on people, get together and help this family. This
is our child too.
Grace Sookchand: Keep praying, God works in
James B Solomon: The fault lies with the doc-
tors who did not provide the required tests for the
board to make their determination. Understand
that the corporate medical community seeks to
provide the most expensive and profitable options
first and not the affordable option.
