The Media Association of T&T (Matt) says it is
disturbed by reports that Trinidad Guardian pho-
tographer Kristian De Silva was attacked during
the lawful execution of his duty on Friday.
Azroon Hosein-Ali Disturbed? And what is
being done about these incidents?
Marlon Jamurath New talk about being be-
tween a rock and a hard place.
Micheal Baptiste Licks come with the job, lol.
Jody June Forget how disturbed you are

talk more action. Or are you just a "matt" to wipe
Camlar Mcleod I wish these newspapers
would provide security for these photographers
and reporters when going on these types of as-
signments. This should be a rule. It has happened
too many times in the past. It is not acceptable.
Mandy Dubarry-Friday They didn't condemn
the actions you know, they're merely "disturbed."
What a joke!

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday said
he does not "knowingly associate with crooks ex-
cept in the Parliament."

smells and it emanates from the parliament.

Mimi Bocas Dr Rowley, you speak the Truth.
Sinanan: Brisk development
contributing to flooding
Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan says the
level of development activity taking place in the
Barataria/San Juan constituency without any im-
provement in the infrastructure of the area is con-
tributing to flooding in the area and also proving
a challenge to the ministry.
Dianne Joseph Yes, they converted all the agri-
culture land into housing.
Shyankaran Lalla Even if all the drains are
cleaned and people stop littering, flooding will
still occur because of poor infrastructure. Over
the years we failed to develop our drainage infra-
structure at the same pace of urbanisation and
successive ministers keep saying and doing the
same things over and over expecting different re-
sults. The minister needs to change some of his
advisers and adopt a common sense approach to
address the situation.
Saleemah Saied What is the building inspector
doing other than being paid?
Some are under the impression that the Petro-
trin "Fake Oil" audit has indirectly implicated
the Prime Minister.
Subsequently, media practitioners, from both
the T&T Guardian and TV6, have been physi-
cally and brutally attacked, allegedly by repre-
sentatives of the named drilling irm.
This is frightening for a democratic republic.
There has not been a single word of condem-
nation of these acts by the current government.
It raises several troubling questions.
Why have both the government and opposi-
tion failed to condemn the horri ic attacks on
media personnel who were doing their jobs?
Is anyone going to be arrested and charged?
We have already heard the platitudes by the
police service that two of icers have been ap-
pointed to investigate. However, if a senior of-
icer is allegedly involved, how high up does this
go in the police service?
The internal auditors at Petrotrin must be
highly commended for the excellent work they
did in bringing this to light.
It does make one wonder, however, if there
were other instances of this in the past and
whether they were covered up.
