stormed a lime in Cocorite on
Reports said around 8.15 pm Jason
"Bobo" Lewis, of Sugar Hill, Cocorite,
was liming in his yard with friends
when they were attacked by five men.
Investigators said after a short con-
versation the five men drew guns and
shot at Lewis and his friends.
Lewis was shot several times in the
chest and head while his friend, David
Ferguson, was shot in his chin and head.
Their other friends managed to run
away and escaped unhurt. The gunmen
reportedly sped off in a waiting vehicle.
Lewis was pronounced dead on the
scene by a District Medical Officer (DMO).
Ferguson was rushed to the St James
Medical Complex and then transfered
to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
He remained warded in a stable con-
dition up to late yesterday.
Investigators said Ferguson and the
other friends were unable to identify
their attackers because they wore ski
masks and handkerchiefs.
Police said Lewis had been involved
in criminal activities in the past and
had a criminal record.
Although homicide detectives had not
established a motive for the attack, they
believe it might be drug or gang-related.
Senior Supt Ismael David, Supt
Alphonso Patterson and Insp Thomas
of the Western Division visited the
scene and are probing the shooting.
His killing took the murder toll to

The officer was unable to access the bail up
