EUGENE DUPUCH LAW SCHOOL
The Council of Legal Education invites applications for the post of Registrar, Eugene Dupuch Law
School, Nassau, The Bahamas.
The successful applicant will be expected to assume duties on January 1, 2014. The position is a
full-time one and no outside employment may be undertaken without the prior approval of the
Council of Legal Education. The appointment will be on contract for three (3) years in the first
instance and is renewable.
The Registrar leads the Registrar's department in relation to all matters connected to admission,
registration, examination operations, and aspects of financial, personnel and general administration
of the Law School.
In this regard, the Registrar is responsible for the following:
Developing and implementing a department wide strategic plan to guide the operations of the
department in accordance with the Council of Legal Education's Strategic Plan
Managing student application and registration processes and the maintenance of student records and
Managing the Law School's examination processes and related activities as mandated by the
Council's Regulations and the Law School's Examination Committee
Managing the property maintenance and acquisition function within the context of preserving a safe
and healthy environment for students and staff
Managing the Registry operations for the provision of an effective student interface and efficient
academic support services
Planning and implementing the annual Graduation Ceremony and other events
Providing support to the Principal in the administration of HR policy and the maintenance of
personnel records for the non-academic staff
Providing leadership to administrative staff including the Assistant Registrar and responsibility for
ensuring a high level of collaboration with respect to the administration of the department
Developing policies and procedures for the administration of the department
Reviewing academic and administrative policies and recommending changes and, when required,
drafting new policies for consideration by the appropriate committees.
This position is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in the management of
innovative and progressive processes and services that support students and which enhance the

Acts as Secretary to the Executive Committee of the Council of Legal Education.
Acts as Secretary to the Examination Committee, Academic Committee of the Law School and
other committees of the Law School from time to time.
Develops strong working relationships with Registrars at the other Council Law Schools and the
University of the West Indies and the external community.
Provides support and advice to the Committees on Admissions, Examinations and Academic
Ensures implementation of academic policies with regard to student records, academic standing,
registration, examinations, grading and graduation.
Developing and implementing a strong performance management and evaluation system in the

Qualifications and Experience
Post graduate qualification in management, business administration or other relevant area of study.
Experience in management with a record of increasing levels of responsibility.
Experience and proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
