Initially the two bands were said to be holding
separate launches with Bliss alone scheduled for
this weekend. Dean Ackin, head of Tribe, said that

"Bliss is paying tribute to Tribe which will be cel-
ebrating its tenth anniversary next year. There will
be nine sections representing the first nine years
of Tribe so from a storytelling standpoint, it made
sense," he said.
Bliss will launch first with its costume presenta-

represent this country at the Miss
World pageant last year created a
lot of controversy, has taken the re-

"The people who had it before did-

Samuel, whose looks and Laven-
tille address made her the subject of
criticism, mainly on social media,
said she would ensure there is
equality for everyone.
"Anyone can come to the screen-

from, Laventille or Westmoorings.
The best person fit for the show will
get the job," she said.
Samuel said she is working with a
committee of five people and others
who they can call on for assistance.
As for funding, she said she is still
meeting with potential sponsors but
sponsorship is coming along.
"Right now it's mainly people giv-

slowly but surely."
Samuel said following the screen-

Asked what prompted her to take
on the challenge of running the Miss
TT/World franchise, Samuel said
she wanted to make a difference.
"My vision is to promote T&T cul-
ture to the best way I know it and to
be fair. I am not judging you based
on where you come from; girls can
come from anywhere," she said.
Screening for Miss TT/World will
be held tomorrow, July 20 at NAPA,
Port of Spain from 10am. Females
18-24 years are eligible and you are
asked to come prepared for any-
