Home' Trinidad and Tobago Guardian : August 7th 2013 Contents A 82-run third wicket partnership
between the Windward Islands pair
of Keone George and Taryck Gabriel
yesterday, left the national under-19
team with a mountain to climb today
in the final round to force an outright
win to stay alive in the race for the
West Indies Cricket Board Regional
U-19 title in St Kitts.
Resuming on their overnight 19/0,
with an overall lead of 44 runs, George
and Gabriel took the Windwards to a
comfortable position at lunch, 125/2.
The long partnership was finally bro-
ken with the score on 138, when
Gabriel fell for 43 to off-spinner
Vikash Mohan. Bryan Charles then
got the big wicket of George shortly
after and T&T were fighting back with
the score on 138/4.
However, contributions from the
middle and lower order got the Wind-
ward Islands tally up to 219 all out,
with an overall lead of 244.
Chasing a challenging 245 to win,
the opening pair of Andy Gobin and
Jeremy Solozano got T&T off to a pos-
itive start, as they were 46/0 after 16
overs. Unfortunately for T&T some
quick wickets at the end of the day s
play left them on 93/4, still in need
of 152 runs for the win. Gobin, who
scored a match winning 105 in the
last round was dismissed for 26. Larry

The result in the T&T/Windwards
clash may not matter, as leaders
Jamaica are closing in on victory
against Barbados. Barbados were 58/4
in their second innings during the last
session of play yesterday, still in need
of 51 runs for Jamaica to bat again.

lead over second-placed T&T in the
