What was first alluded to by Joss Whedon back
in June has been confirmed by Tom Hiddleston:
Loki, the character Hiddleston has played to
much fanfare in Thor and Marvel s The Avengers,
will not be a part of The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"He s not in it," Hiddleston told EW.com about
Loki. "Here s the thing: I don t think there s any-
thing else Loki could contribute to The Avengers,
narratively. Joss gave me so many wonderful things
to do in that first film that we d only be trying
to repeat ourselves, and probably less well in the
Hiddleston s comments are a variation on state-
ments made by Whedon, who will return as direc-
tor for The Avengers 2.
"Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-
Hulk smash moment," Whedon said to Empire
Magazine in June of this year.
"First of all, imitating what I did before is the
surest way to do it not as well. Second of all,
Loki s not there to say those terrible things.
Although I do think we should bring the word
back, not as an insult, it s just a nice word."

slag Scarlett Johansson s Black Widow in the first
Loki fans disappointed with this news can take
solace in the fact that Hiddleston appears in the
Thor sequel, Thor: The Dark World, which is out
in theatres on November 8. (Huffington Post)
Loki will be missing from the Avengers 2 lineup.

Chris Brown took to Twitter on Tuesday to
tell the world that he plans to quit music after
the release of X, his upcoming LP.
The R&B singer said he s "tired of being famous
for a mistake" he made when he was 18, referencing
when he assaulted Rihanna.
The Fine China singer tweeted after spending
45 minutes in jail on Monday over his ongoing
hit-and-run case that he is not sure of his future
after upcoming album X, is released in the US
on August 20.
"Don t worry, mainstream America. After this
X album, it ll probably be my last album," Brown
tweeted. This was followed by another tweet:
"Being famous is amazing when it s for ur music
and talent. I m tired of being famous for a mistake
I made when I was 18. I m cool and over it!"
Both Brown, who has had a string of other
post-assault altercations and incidents on his rap
sheet, and the music industry, which has promoted
and booked Brown since shortly after the assault,
have faced near constant criticism since the hor-
rific event that took place before the 2009 Gram-
Brown s tweets have been littered with inspi-
rational messages as of late. "I m not a performer
nor do I have to be," he said in one tweet. "We
are all children pretending to be gods!"
"Aspire to be great and the person you wanna
be," he wrote in another. "Don t conform because
[you re] worth is more than any money or status.
We live. We die."
Brown s probation in relation to his assault on
Rihanna was revoked in July following the alleged
Brown has denied claims that he failed to pro-
vide accurate insurance information after a car
accident in Los Angeles. He is next scheduled to
appear in court on August 16.
It s worth noting that plenty of other performers
have claimed they were retiring before, including
Jay Z, who returned in 2006 following a three-
year hiatus that he later admitted was "the worst
retirement in history." (Huffington Post/Digital Spy)
