ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER (two-year fixed term contract)
The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) is the Australian Government
agency responsible for managing Australia's overseas aid program. AusAID's objective is to help
people overcome poverty. Australia is committed to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs),
the internationally agreed targets for poverty reduction.
AusAID is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Assistant
Program Manager (APM) in their Port of Spain office.
Under general direction of the First Secretary Development Cooperation in the first instance, the
APM will support the Senior Program Manager and Program Manager -- Australia Awards in
managing and implementing AusAID's Caribbean program.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program management - develop and maintain effective relationships with development
partners and key stakeholders
Monitoring and evaluation - contribute to monitoring, reviews and reporting of activity progress
Contract management - undertake elements of contract management and contractor
compliance, including drafting contracts and/or variations
Financial management - undertake financial management and reporting in relation to discrete
Communications - assist with implementing AusAID's communications strategy, including
identifying media opportunities
Administration - Assist in preparation for missions and delegations in the region
A probationary period will apply.
