terday after he appeared in court on three

Bucchan s attorney Richard McLeod, in
asking for his client to be granted bail, said
he owned his own business, was a local
government election candidate, had no pre-
vious convictions or pending matters and
was not a flight risk.
The magistrate asked whether Bucchan
was wearing a green jersey by accident.
McLeod said that was the colour of the
party Bucchan is representing.
"One of Jack s boys," the magistrate com-

domestic issue, but noted that his client
has said he is innocent.
However, prosecutor Sgt Shiva Boodhai
said two of the people who were allegedly
shot at during the incident were minors.
"He shot at minors and I should grant
him bail, Mr McLeod?" asked the magistrate.
McLeod said the issue arose from a
domestic issue and Bucchan was the father
of two children.
Boodhai said the police also had infor-
mation that Bucchan had cases in other
jurisdictions and were liaising with Interpol
to verify that information. The prosecutor
said it would take at least two weeks to get

The five charges stemmed from an
incident on Tuesday at Chaguanas,
where an alleged shooting took place.
Bucchan was arrested in Morvant,
where a gun and ammunition was
allegedly found in his possession.
Charges allege that at Moonstone
Crescent, Edinburgh, he shot at
Mohammed Ali, Yasine Ali and Kareem
Ali with intent to do them grievous
The other charges allege that at Lady
Young Road, Morvant, he had a Taurus
45 pistol and 12 rounds of .45
ammunition in his possession with
intent to endanger lives.
