The 65th Annual
Emmy Awards with
host Neil Patrick
Harris brought out a
number of fun song-
to support a three
hour show featuring
an array of TV sup-
Fashion at the Emmys was a dis-
play of conservative elegance, and
Vibe Beauty has the rundown on the
hottest celeb looks for the night.
The main signature makeup trend
of the night was thick defined brows
with heavy foundation coverage
using the 3 in 1 product process
create a perfect skin tone.
The notable celebrities were
Mindy Kaling who wore a jeweled
purple gown that accented her flaw-
less, rich skin tone, plum toned eye
shadow and lipstick.
Heidi Klum was the stunner of the
night in Versace haute couture. Her
makeup was a glowing palette of
soft plum tones and defined brows
with her signature glowing high
Claire Danes wore a coral red lip-
stick which contrasted to bring out
her thinner lips and compliment her
soft, smoky blue-grey shadow; this
look was simple but worked beauti-
fully with her gown.
Kerry Washington voted globally
the best dressed female celeb of
2013, once again proving why she is
on top of her competition this year.
She sported a nude makeup palette
with thick mascara and well defined
brows, supported by her naturally
Sarah Hyland wore a rich emerald
green gown (right on trend for this
year) and a power punch deep Bor-
deaux lipstick with thick defined
brows and full coverage foundation.
Padma Lakshmi had a beautiful
bronzy glow to her skin to match her
rich skin tone. Her flat-ironed super
straight hair complimented well with
her slim fitting Grecian dress.
Another stunner of the night was
pop country star Carrie Underwood
(and a tie for first place in my opin-
ion). This southern stunner never
lets you down with her rich, smoky,
deep blue and cream eye shadows,
super thick mascara, mauve pink lip
tone set the Vibe for glamour.
Guiliana Rancic wore a baby blue
Mikael D gown. Her dramatic warm
chocolate eye shadow, super thick,
defined eyeliner and bronzed skin
tone played well with her dramatic
entrance on to the Emmy Red Carpet
(and host of the Fashion Police).
Lastly, Shaun Robinson wore a
super glittery Nicole Miller dress and
placed her hair in an upswept style to
rival a Bridgette Bardot look. This
was accented with her beautiful
smoky eye makeup palette and rich
cocoa brown lipstick.
Step 1: Start with a gentle exfoliator and a
cleanser to decongest and cleanse the pores to
create a smooth refreshing feel and texture to
the skin without feeling dry. Then, apply a pro-
tective day moisturizer with SPF that has bene-
ficial antioxidants, which will provide moisture
and create a soft finish to the skin prior to apply-
ing your foundation.
Step 2: Apply an oil free, water based foun-
dation all over the skin with your fingers, sponge
of foundation brush. Then apply your concealer
over any remaining blemished areas gently tap-
ping and blending into your foundation base.
Dampen a sponge with water and swirl into a
dual pressed powder and then place directly
over the foundation; this will create a flawless
foundation look to the skin.
Step 3: Then softly apply a no-shimmer
bronzer to the highest areas of cheeks and
around jawline creating definition around the
Step 4: For dramatic eyes, apply a soft
cream tone below the brow bone to make your
eyes look bigger.
Then, on the lower lid, move your eyeshadow
brush in an outward C motion up to the crease
of the eye.
Use a darker eye shadow shade of your
choice on the inner part closest to the nose, and
apply the same cream tone to create light to
that area and blend all colours gently together
to create a smooth transition of colour.
Lastly, use a gel or smoky powder pencil to
draw on a thick line onto your top and bottom
lashes, ending in an upwards curve at the outer
parts of your eyes. Thicken and define your
brows by using a brow powder or pencil to fill in
any sparse areas and blend to ensure it looks
(A rule of thumb: use a colour that matches
your natural hair colour).
Finish with a thick coating of Extreme Length
Water Resistant Mascara on your upper and
lower lashes, doing it twice to create volume
Step 4: Contour your cheeks in upward mo-
tion connecting to your hairline over your
bronzer. Then apply a light amount of the glow
illuminating liquid or cream directly on top of the
blush creating a dewy shimmer effect. You can
use a little on your forehead and middle of the
noise for an overall glow effect.
Step 5: Fill in your whole lip with Kohl Lip
liner pencil in a shade of your choice and apply
the Luxury Moisturizing Lipstick directly over Lip
liner and finish with a lip-gloss that matches.
