MADRID --- Cristiano Ronaldo
maintained his impressive form in
the Champions League by scoring
two goals to give Real Madrid a 2-1
win against 10-man Juventus yester-
The Portugal forward angled a shot
behind goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon to
score in the fourth minute from a sub-
lime pass by Angel Di Maria.
Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal
then pulled down Sergio Ramos in the
area and Ronaldo confidently converted
the penalty in the 29th for his seventh
Champions League goal this season.
Fernando Llorente had equalised for
Juventus seven minutes earlier by
squeezing the ball between goalkeeper
Iker Casillas and the post in the 22nd.
Llorente, a former Atheltic Bilbao play-
er, has now scored six goals against
Madrid, including three at the Santiago
Bayern Munich 5 Plzen 5-0
Franck Ribery scored twice as
defending champion Bayern Munich
routed Viktoria Plzen 5-0.
Bayern utterly dominated the game,
yet needed a penalty from Ribery to
break the deadlock in the 22nd. Plzen
defender Roman Hubnik conceded it
for a foul on Arjen Robben.
David Alaba made it 2-0 in the 37th,
and Ribery scored a memorable second
by dinking the ball over the goalkeeper
in the 61st.
Mario Goetze came on to set up
Bastian Schweinsteiger for Bayern's
fourth in the 68th, and the Bayern
substitute completed the rout in injury
Bayern is comfortable in Group D
with three wins from three.
PSG 5 Anderlecht 0
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored four goals,
from the simple to the sublime, to lead
Paris Saint-Germain to a 5-0 rout of
Anderlecht in Group C.
After tapping home in the 17th
minute, the Swedish star delivered an
exhibition of power and guile which
further underscored his standing as
one of the best players in the world.
In the 22nd minute, he diverted
home a low cross with a seemingly
nonchalant backheel, dumbfounding
the Anderlecht defense.
Then he pounced on a loose ball
some 28 meters out and blasted it into
the top left corner with a shot on the
bounce in the 36th minute, before
adding a dipping volley in the 62nd
minute. Edinson Cavani scored PSG's

The result put the clubs level on
four points in Group C, five points
behind leader Paris Saint-Germain
which routed Anderlecht 5-0.
Alejandro Dominguez received a neat
backheeled pass from Kostas Mitroglou
on the left of the Benfica penalty area
and wrongfooted his marker before
coolly slotting the ball past Artur for
a 29th-minute opening goal.
A heavy rainstorm made the pitch
almost unplayable in the second half,
frustrating Benfica's efforts to pull
level until Cardozo bundled the ball
over the line in a goalmouth scram-
Benfica and Olympiakos had pre-
viously lost to Paris Saint-Germain
and beaten Anderlecht.
Man United 1 Sociedad 0
Manchester United relied on an own
goal by Inigo Martinez after just 69
seconds to overcome Real Sociedad 1-
0 and cement top spot in Group A
of the Champions League.
Martinez clumsily booted the ball
into his own net after a shot by the
impressive Wayne Rooney came back
off the post, settling a tight match at
Old Trafford and condemning the vis-
itors to a third straight defeat.
United leads by a point from Bayer
Leverkusen after opening up with two
wins and a draw, and Europe is proving
a welcome distraction while the English
champions stutter in the defense of
their Premier League title.
While Antonio Valencia struck the
post for United, Sociedad wasn't with-
out chances of its own, with Antoine
Griezmann's free kick hitting the goal
