Hours later, his relatives were able

David, also a guidance counsellor,

It is alleged that he committed the

In asking for bail, his attorney Jason
Jackson said the teacher taught at the
school for the past 24 years. He said
the allegation was made in May. One
month later David voluntarily went to
the police station and gave a statement.
Jackson said he found it a bit unfair
that the police arrested David on a war-
rant since the allegation was not recent,
the police knew where to find him and
he voluntarily gave a statement.
McKenzie, however, said a summons
was not appropriate due to the serious
nature of the offence.
Jackson said David, the father of a
nine-year-old son, had no previous
convictions or pending matters.
Police prosecutor Cleyon Seedan did
not object the bail. He said after the
alleged incident the student, who is
also a citizen of US, left the country.
The case was adjourned to December
