The artiste JAIGA formerly known as
"Super Jigga TC" will not be participating in
this year's International Soca Monarch. In a
press release the artiste said he has taken
his craft to another level with various proj-
ects which is keeping him busy this season.
Among his many projects is his upcoming
self-entitled album, his first and accompa-
nying videos. He also has another major en-
dorsement coming soon.
"Given the time, energy and physical de-
mands of all that is happening he will not be
able to participate in this year's Interna-
tional Soca Monarch competition," the re-
Jaiga is also expecting his second child
soon with wife Samantha. He has a daugh-
ter from a previous relationship.
After an absence of two years, for-
mer Chutney Soca Monarch Ravi B
is returning to the Chutney Soca
Ravi is among the 43 semifinalists who
will compete at Rienzi Complex in Couva
next weekend for a place in the finals.
Ravi told Metro that his return was
prompted by friends and fans and en-
"It is a privilege to compete against
Ricki Jai and all these great artistes...I am
returning because of the industry and I
just want to be a part of it," he said.
Though he performed last year as a
guest performer, Ravi said the experience
does not compare to actually competing.
Ravi B opted out of competition follow-
ing an incident in 2010 when he urged
fans to pelt the stage following the an-
nouncement that Ricki Jai won the title.
Ravi said the incident is now buried and
he looks forward to making his contribu-
tion to uplifting the artform.
Ravi will be singing Bread, which he de-
scribed as a clean, safe song. He said it
was hard to follow up on last year's mas-
sive hit Prescription and he wanted to go
in another direction.
For the season, Ravi will release seven
songs which be on his 14th studio album.
In addition to Ravi, major soca acts such
as former Soca Monarch winner, Shur-
wayne Winchester, Olatunji and Blaxx will
make their debut on the Chutney Soca
stage. Anand Yankeran, a veteran and a
favourite in the Chutney fraternity, has
also returned for what is expected to be
the biggest and most exciting Semi Final
round ever in the history of the competi-

and Olatunji Yearwood have come together for the brand
new Popcorn Riddim for KFC's Feed Yuh Riddim Carnival

songs for their campaign.
"This year we decided to be propagators of a riddim. We re-
leased the riddim and invoted artistes to collaborate woith us,"
The campaign is bewing rolled out in phases with the launch
