The lead investigator in the Michelle Coudray-
Greaves murder trial took the witness stand yes-
terday when the case resumed in the St James
Circuit Court, Jamaica.
Detective Sgt Clinton Brady of the Montego Bay
Criminal Investigations Branch testified before Justice
Courtney Daye on the procedure he followed from
start to end of the investigation.
Gleaner reporter Christopher Thomas, who is cov-
ering the trial, said Brady first received information
on the missing Trinidadian sometime between June
7 and 8, 2012, after which he made contact with the
accused Ivan Taylor on June 10.
Brady said he recorded a witness statement from
Taylor on the same day.
In it, Brady said, Taylor admitted to collecting
Coudray-Greaves on June 2 from her house at Corn-
wall Courts and dropping her off at a post office in
The burnt remains of Coudray-Greaves, who for-
merly taught language at Cornwall College, had to
be identified through DNA evidence and her dental
records, which were submitted by her mother.
The mother of four, who was the daughter of Local
Government Minister Marlene Coudray, was reported
missing after she was last seen entering a taxi on
June 8 outside Cornwall College, where she was
expected to fill a teaching position.
Taylor, a Westmoreland-based taxi operator, is on
trial for her murder. He sometimes acted as a driver
for Coudray-Greaves, and was the last person to see
Brady is expected to continue his testimony when
the trial resumes on Monday.
